A melt band is a specialized elastic band used in wig styling, particularly for lace front wigs, to achieve a seamless and natural look. Its primary function is to "melt" the lace into the skin, ensuring that the lace front appears undetectable, as if it's part of your natural hairline.

How a Melt Band Works:

  • Securing the Lace: After applying adhesive or glue to secure the lace front, the melt band is wrapped tightly around the hairline, pressing the lace down.
  • Blending the Lace: The pressure from the melt band helps the lace adhere more closely to the skin, "melting" it for a flawless, scalp-like appearance.
  • Setting the Lace: The band is typically left on for a few minutes (about 5–15 minutes) until the adhesive has fully dried or set. Once removed, the lace should blend seamlessly into the scalp.

Benefits of Using a Melt Band:

  • Flawless Hairline: It helps the lace look smooth and natural without visible edges.
  • Extra Hold: Provides a secure hold, ensuring the lace stays in place throughout the day.
  • Comfortable Fit: The stretchy fabric is comfortable, so you can use it without causing discomfort

How to Use the Melt Band

  1. Apply Wig Adhesive: After placing the wig, apply your preferred adhesive (wig glue or gel) around the hairline.
  2. Place the Lace: Gently press the lace onto the adhesive.
  3. Wrap the Melt Band: Secure the melt band snugly around your hairline, making sure it covers the lace area.
  4. Wait: Leave the band on for 5–15 minutes until the adhesive is fully set.
  5. Remove the Band: Take off the melt band, and the lace should appear as if it’s melted into your skin.

Best times to wear Melt Band:

  • When your lounging around
  • Going to sleep along with a bonnet
  • Taking a shower or washing your face
